When we got to funkstown we found that the brigade had gone on to Williams port. We followed right on with the wagons. the last of the rebels crossed about 8 AM. All their sick and wounded was left in the town. Our brigade capmed about half a mile to the right of the town the train passed through part of the town. After issuing we started back but it got dark and we parked just on the edge of Hagerstown. part of our brigade skirmished with the rebels this morning. Our train had the advance today. Crossed the turn pike from where we was parked. (Bolivar) and kept along the foot of the mountain. passing over part of the Crampton's Gap battle ground. passed through burketsville and went on to petersville near where we parked. I believe that there is hundreds of bushels of blackberries along the mountain but there is not many ripe. Our sutlers came up tot the Brigade yester- day.
