It is eight miles from the park to the brigade. the road is full of artillery ammunition and supply trains. Passed through boonesbrough saw a good many wounded there. Our Regt passed through the place about ten months ago. Saw the Vice President Hannibal Hamlin. He was just getting out of his coach at the United States hotel in boonesborough. he was escorted By a lot of cavalry. his coach was drawn by four large gray horses. He was dressed in black pants linen dusted and beaver hat. Quite an old looking man. today I received a letter from aunt Mary.</text>
