Text Any textual data included in the document Nov 7th Saturday Clear and cold. very high wind. got up early and loaded our wagons. got started a little after eight o'clock took the road leading southeast of Warrenton Passed gregg's division of cavalry and flying artillery. They was going towards warrenton. about three oclock we stopped near a belt of woods. fed and watered the team. had dinner there. After the team was fed we moved on about three quarters of a mile when we came to the rail- road at bealton station. when we first stopped we heard an awful fire of artillery and it was kept up untill dark. It was very heavy. the railroad here is all torn up and the ties and rails all carried off or destroyed. Bought a MacClellau saddle for two dollars. Text Any textual data included in the document 8th Sunday The firing that we heard yesterday was on the rappahannock. Our men took two thousand rebels and a whole battery. Hen guns horses and all. They passed us this morning. And a good many officers among them. about three oclock we got orders to move on to Rappahannock station. we parked on the banks of the river and to the left of the railroad and forts. was over yesterday's battle ground saw the graves of the dead. the railroad is all torn up and destroyed. all along the road. It is clear today but the wind is very high and the dust blows awful. It was the same way yestreday. There is some fighting today. Our troops crossed during the night. Text Any textual data included in the document Nov 9th Monday About ten oclock we was ordered to go out with supplies crossed the river just above the railroad bridge. The bridge is all blown up. found our brigade about four miles from the river and about a mile too the right of brandy station. we had just got to the brigade when it commenced to snow lightly but did not last long. It is very cold and windy. I got back about dark. The train did not get across until near twelve oclock at night. the first corps was recrossing. soon after we started the whole train was ordered out but only got to the river where they was ordered back.
